Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving Teachers of Emergent Bilinguals! We have a short week coming up! But it’s an excellent opportunity to teach the content, language, and literacy around Thanksgiving. This is the first Thanksgiving for many of our students. Wouldn’t be wonderful to do a little Thanksgiving lesson with them?

Teachers, I am thankful for YOU – the dedicated professionals who care so much about our students’ future. Please see this Happy Thanksgiving lesson plan, including a worksheet which should get you through to Wednesday!

For those of you working with higher proficiency students, or teaching an integrated ELA-ENL class, here’s a wonderful video of Wampanoag youth discussing the meaning of Thanksgiving for them.

If you haven’t been following my fall 22 scope and sequence for ENL Stand Alone, check out my August 31st post and get started – it’s never too late to teach linguistic skills!
